Rock Paper Salon was opened in 2014 by Adam and his wife Amber. Adam's dedication to the hair industry is matched only by his wild creativity and sometimes too-out-of-the-box thinking. Amber's calm, level headed approach to things balances that perfectly. They share a strong conviction for helping to grow the world around them and so they work very closely with many local and nation charities. While Adam's energies are almost always put back into his work with hair, traveling with Matrix to elevate the industry he loves and producing editorial collections that are featured in various publications, Amber works as a distributor for Young Living Essential Oils, spreading her love for Oils everywhere she goes both as a businesswoman and as someone who wants to make the people who surround her healthier and happier. The couple and their 3 children are all extremely proud of the salon and what it stands for and will continue to each contribute, in their own way, to make the salon's impact on the world bigger and better year after year.

Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday

Without any sugar coating, I'll openly admit that I have an ego. To some extent, it’s a show I put on for my clients. A confident stylist also puts confidence in the mind of a client who may be a bit timid, or has never had you do their hair before. My mantra as a stylist and my most important lesson as a teacher is that when you’re at work, you are on stage and should behave as such. After all, a Broadway show with a boring cast is not on Broadway very long.

I aspire to help my clients better understand how to choose and properly use the products they put in their hair, as well as what tools to use, and again how to use them. Even though I’m not there every morning to vamp up their style before leaving the house, they will still be near as stunning as the moment they left my chair.

Truth be told, I can say that being able to let out my creativity, my love for the industry, and being that cutting edge for my clients is why I do what I do. In reality, there is nothing better than plucking something out of my imagination, delivering it, and then seeing it translate in all its glory whether it is in print or online. I get great satisfaction watching someone check themselves out in the mirror after I’m finished and suddenly, their head swells just a bit and my ego says to theirs, "You are welcome!”

I have had the pleasure of working in salons, in model’s rooms at major industry trade shows, as well as on sets for photo shoots with other artists and my own projects. Since 2007, I've trained to further perfect my skills under nationally and globally recognized talent from companies including MATRIX, Goldwell/KMS, Paul Mitchell, Redken, and Donna Bella Milan/Babe Extensions. I also continue to train, mentor, and educate other salon professionals, from one-on-one education and in salons to leading programs of 200+ attendees all over North America as part of the Matrix Artistic Education Team. My successes as a professional, in addition to my work with Matrix, include having my work featured with Modern Salon, The Colorist, Beauty LaunchPad and Canadian Hairdresser Magazine and being named one of The Colorist Magazine's 2015 "Top 30 under 30". I was also named a featured artist for a top hair stylist’s mobile app, Colorista, and I've done platform work for Babe/Donna Bella Milan Hair Extensions, designed and implemented an advanced cutting and coloring curriculum for the Indian River State College Academy of Cosmetology and of course having the opportunity to realize my dream of salon ownership with the opening of Rock Paper Salon in 2014. Most importantly, after all that, I get to come home to the most incredible wife and three amazing children that anyone could ever ask for. Without their pride, love and support, I’m just a crazy guy with a sharp pair of shears and hair color stains on his hands.
