"Hair by JD"

About JD Sheriff
Having finished a BA from Catawba College and then performing onstage professionally for nearly a decade, JD's professional career took a turn to more of a behind the scenes approach with hair, make-up, and wig design.
After becoming a licensed cosmetologist and graduating at the top of his class, receiving the highest GPA, he landed his first job in a salon studying under Aleshia Hines, past Platform Artist for Lanza, North Carolina's men and woman's hair cutting champion, and then owner of Fossil Salon and Spa Inc.
He immediately realized styles change rapidly, and how important continued education is, and submerged himself in it. He has studied places like the Modern Organic Products Academy and the Pivot Point Academy, training with the likes of Mathew Williams and LuAnne Keller Frost.
Eventually, he was hired by Modern Organic Products as a product knowledge educator, and worked his way up to a National Educator and Platform Artist. He represented MOP at various shows and venues on the national level, and finally reached the status of International Artist Apprentice when he resigned from educating completely in 2007.
In 2007, he started to work at Salon Vogue, and running his own business "Hair by JD." While working at Salon Vogue, he had the honor of working with Dale Smith president of Salon Vogue Inc. and North America's Creative Director for Keune Hair Cosmetics.
Then in May 2010, he made the tough decision to leave Salon Vogue, and now you can find "Hair by JD" at Sola Salon Studios at The Arbors at Mallard Creek.
JD also now carries the complete line of Color Proof products. He is an authorized dealer and has been certified as a product specialist for this company. This product line is complete vegan, sulfate free, salt free, PABA free, MEA and DEA free, carcinogen free, keratin free, never tested on animals, 100% natural line utilizing botanicals and essential oils.
JD has a waiting list for new clients. Please contact him through his website if you would like to be added to the waiting list.
