Tosha Holmes

A Taste of T Salon #11

About Tosha Holmes

Known by her friends as Tot, Tosha always wanted to be a hairstylist at an early age. Having had wonderful hair experiences growing up, she loved to see how happy customers were when they left the salon, and she was in awe at how knowledgeable her hairstylists were in handling any hair situation. Tosha initially had the opportunity to go into cosmetology after completing middle school, but it wasn’t her time. All throughout high school and college, she dreamed about doing hair. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in business from Howard University, and working as an insurance agent, her desire to do become a professional hairstylist was reignited.

After obtaining her certification from Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology and becoming a licensed cosmetologist, Tosha began her career in a private salon in Augusta, Ga, as a braider and natural hair care specialist. Although an introvert at heart, she has always had a passion about sharing her knowledge of hair care. Shortly after working in the salon, it was a natural move to begin teaching cosmetology. As a full time stylist and part-time instructor, Tosha gained valuable experience in managing a salon and facilitating classes of up to 25 people. As someone who is consistently dedicated to deepening the knowledge of her craft, Tosha began accumulating more certifications in the subjects of trichology, wig making, platform artistry, and braiding to name a few. After seven years of working dual roles, Tosha took the plunge and opened up her own salon.

Creating a name for her salon was not easy. Tosha wanted something that reflected all the things she loves to do, but did not want to necessarily name it after herself. Finally, A Taste of T aka A TOT SALON was born. It represents everything she is: a professional, learner, educator, listener, and friend. She loves providing the ultimate salon experience for her customers by educating them on hair care and helping them achieve their hair goals. Over her 12 year career, she has earned several certifications from reputable brands such as Nouritress, Olaplex, Taliah Waajid, Pravana, Dr. Kari Williams Trichology, and Campbell Wigs to name a few. Her specialties include loc (dreadlock) services, color, hair restoration services, and wig and hair replacement options.

All I got to say is Tosha is the best! Me and my daughters walked in looking ordinary and left out looking extraordinary! The atmosphere is always professional, welcoming, and personal. I would recommend Tosha for ALL your hair needs! Sierra P.

Tosha is the best! I am very picky when it comes to my hair and rarely step out and do something different. Well my very first sew-in was done (Dec 2012) by her and I loved it. She has done some great a great job with helping me maintain my natural hair while wearing protective styles in between! Professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and funny are all her. You will enjoy your salon experience from beginning to end! - Atavia M.

Tosha is great! It has taken me a long time to find someone I can trust with my hair and I'm so glad I don't have to look any further! She takes her time in taking care of your hair and is open to explain any procedure and answer any questions that you have. - Jenease H.

Great experience every time I sit in Tosha chair thank you thank you - Rebecca

Procrastinated for MONTHS about getting a couple of wigs installed...wasn't sure how they would look on me or if I would be able to maintain the salon look afterwards. Thank you, Tosha for taking the time to make the unit "me"!!! I appreciate the explanation of what you were doing as you did it and why (thinning out the wig in certain areas...basically fitting it to my face/preference). I must say, I'm already looking into my next wig purchase and can't wait to see how you transform me. Till next time....
