Mother’s Day is right around the corner – Sunday, May 8, 2016! With just about a month left to prepare, now is the perfect time to put together some Mother’s Day packages and promotions for your salon. Read our blog post from last year or check out our list at the end of this post for some great promotion ideas.

Once you know which promotion (or promotions) you’d like to use, it’s time to get the word out! Writing your own ads can feel overwhelming, so we wanted to share examples of what to say on a few different marketing channels.

Example Promotion:

When writing a Facebook post, remember these simple rules. Use a related high quality photo, include a call to action, and put the most important content first. When you post about a special promotion, be sure to include relevant hashtags and a link to more information in your profile – and a beautiful photo, of course!

Twitter:

Twitter is all about brevity. You only have 140 characters, so make them count! Explain your promotion, and include a link for your audience to get more information. Links posted through Twitter are automatically shortened to 23 characters.

Email:

Email gives you the biggest amount of space to discuss your promotion, but that doesn’t mean you should ramble on. Keep it short and sweet, but feel free to add a little bit of pizazz – like a touching quote! Again, make sure to include a high quality image to give your email some visual interest.

7 Mother’s Day Promo Ideas

Sweet Mama Mane & Mani. Partner with a nail tech from down the hall to offer a package that includes a blowout and a manicure for both mother and daughter! Set up a nail station in your studio so they can spend the day together…serve up a sweet treat like chocolate and champagne as a finishing touch!

Mother Diva Day. Include a 10-minute back and head massage with essential oils alongside a deep conditioning treatment to a standard blowout appointment. Mom will leave feeling totally relaxed and totally beautiful!

Mother May I Gift Baskets. Offer gift baskets full of your best selling retail items, or offer to customize a gift basket for mom. Provide a 15% discount and invite your guests to walk away gift in hand!

Mama Mia Sola Retreat. Talk to your neighbors who provide other services and team up to provide a full salon experience! Join Forces for the Fathers. If your customers are primarily women, partner with a local business that has a predominately male clientele, like a barber, to promote your Mother’s Day offerings as easy and fabulous gift ideas. Offer to promote your partner’s business when Father’s Day rolls around.
