The Faces of Sola program celebrates the independent salon owners who make up our vibrant community of 20,000+ beauty professionals. Since 2015, we’ve had the honor of showcasing industry leaders who are not only masters of their craft but also educators, entrepreneurs, and mentors shaping the future of beauty. Each year, a new group of Solapreneurs is chosen to represent what it means to be part of Sola—embodying creativity, determination, and the freedom that comes with salon ownership. Their stories inspire and empower others to chase their dreams, build thriving businesses, and make an impact in the industry. Now, we’re thrilled to introduce the 12 NEW Faces of Sola for 2025! Get ready to be inspired... ✨ Miko Gemuchu | Portland, OR Miko Gemechu is located at Sola Lloyd in Portland, Oregon and has built a thriving career over nearly a decade in the beauty industry, specializing in extensions and natural hair. As a traveling celebrity stylist, she has worked with artists and athletes such as Drake, Amine, Carmelo Anthony, and Sha’Carri Richardson. Her expertise has led to collaborations with major brands like Nike and Richard Mille, further cementing her influence in beauty and fashion. Beyond styling, Miko launched her own hair extension line, CrownedByMiks Collection, and mentors aspiring hairstylists through one-on-one extension courses. We can’t wait to continue to watch you thrive, Miko! “My commitment to excellence has allowed me to work with top-tier vendors, collaborate with local beauty schools and establish myself as a trusted professional in the industry. I’m excited for the opportunity to continue inspiring and elevating others in this amazing community!” ✨ Trevor Drenik | Kansas City, MO Trevor Drenik, a hairstylist at Sola Salons South Plaza in Kansas City, MO, has been in the industry for over a decade. A two-time winner and runner-up for "Best Hairstylist of KC," he trained with Aveda in cutting and color before earning certifications in extensions and keratin treatments. Passionate about education, Trevor travels frequently to attend industry events and hair shows. Last year, he took a leap and opened his own studio at Sola Salons to mark his 10-year milestone. After working at three prestigious salons, he was ready to create something of his own... and the rest is history! “I was so scared to step out on my own, but after working at 3 prestigious salons, it was time. I’m so grateful for my years behind the chair and the clients who have become my family. I love coming into my studio and I’m proud to show off my work—Sola has made that possible.” ✨ Lauren Middleton | Charlotte, NC Lauren Middleton, hairstylist at Sola Rivergate in Charlotte, NC, began her journey behind the chair after a corporate layoff and her mother’s battle with medical-related hair loss. Determined to restore confidence in women facing similar struggles, she found her true calling through hairstyling, extensions, and hair loss solutions. In 2016, with just six clients and a leap of faith, Lauren opened her own Sola salon suite. Since then, she has built a thriving business, partnering with The Pink House Charlotte Breast Friends and the VA to provide custom wigs for cancer patients and veteran women experiencing hair loss. Beyond styling, Lauren is dedicated to elevating the industry. She has developed a line of styling products, introduced luxury head spa services, and created educational resources to help stylists grow. Through her insurance training course, she empowers beauty professionals to become medical providers for hair loss clients. "Sola gave me the freedom to build a business that truly changes lives. It’s more than a salon—it’s a place where passion meets purpose. If you’re ready to take the leap, trust yourself. Sola provides the tools, but success comes from believing in your own potential." ✨ Cortney Prentice | Port Credit, Mississauga, Canada Cortney Prentice, hairstylist at Sola Port Credit in Mississauga, Canada, has been in the beauty industry for over 20 years.
