My name is Araceli Ortiz-Richey, I am both an independent stylist/owner of DIA Haircolor Studio and Kuene artistic educator. I have been behind the chair for 18 years, and an educator for 10 with a couple different manufacturers. Much of the training I have received has come from my experiences in education for the manufacturers Pravana, Sunlights, and Unite. I love this industry, because, as hairdressers, we have the ability to change how people perceive themselves every day. I am known for my coloring abilities, which includes anything from fashion shades to rich reds and blondes. What I feel that I am best known for is color correction, and maintaining my client’s hair healthy through the process they may receive.
I would like to say across the board that my clients say they trust me to make the right decisions to keep the integrity of their hair in great condition, while still giving them the change they want. Overall, my passions lie in the areas of color and education. Brainstorming possible solutions to color issues with stylists just as passionate about the industry as I am, is something I really enjoy doing. I feel that if you cannot meet the demands of the ever changing styles, you will not have the knowledge to execute it appropriately. This is why I find education to be such an important and enjoyable factor in my career. With enthusiasm and hard work, I look forward to what each day in the salon brings, and finding new inspiration along with inspiring others.
