Hi! I'm Clara Brown, licensed massage therapist, and owner of Sacred Cocoon Therapeutic Massage. My mission is simple: to make life easier for those struggling with physical and emotional pain. In 2017 after a major health scare, I enrolled in massage school at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Tempe, Arizona. I knew that I needed to make a change so that I could live a happier and healthier lifestyle. Massage therapy has made such a positive impact on my mental health that I can't help but feel called to apply what I've learned as a way to honor others and serve my community. For years, I worked as an employee in a spa environment but my ultimate goal was to work for myself, to build a beautiful healing space where clients could feel safe and heard. The symbolism of a cocoon is what I felt most connected to. I love the metaphor of changing into a new being after shedding the skin of an old self. Since graduating from massage school, I have had advanced training in trauma informed massage therapy and oncology massage considerations through Advanced Massage Arts & Education in Tempe, Arizona. I offer pediatric massage for children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, stress, sensory processing disorders, and sports related muscle soreness. I am also an End-of-Life Doula and educator, trained through University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine, for those in need of emotional support in their final stage of life. I am a proud member of the National End-of-Life Doula Alliance (NEDA) and the National Home Funeral Alliance (NHFA). Adopting the philosophy that learning never stops, I have dedicated myself to continuing education and growing my knowledge and experience as a life-long student of the healing arts.
