Holiday has been studying hair color and design since 2008. Natural looking color and beautiful hair design are what inspire him the most. When color and highlights are done right, Holiday believes that it brings out the youthfulness in his clients. And he enjoys the journey to get there.
“I work with my heart and my hands,” says Holiday. “I see this as tailoring, craftsmanship and artistry. And my joy comes from helping people look and feel like the best version of themselves.”
Need a “hairapist?” Holiday is your man. When you enter the Holiday Childress studio, it is about your own personal experience: leave everything behind, let it go, feel comfortable – and leave refreshed, renewed and inspired!
Holiday’s product and styling education include Bumble and Bumble, Wella, Schwarzkopf, Davines and R+Co. He has had five years of continuing education with Schwarzkopf, the most comprehensive, complete line of color products he’s ever used. He works with all hair types and textures – straight, curly, fine, thick. It’s all about finding the style that belongs to the client. Holiday says he loves to learn from his clients as much as from professional hair educators.
Holiday was born in England: his father, an Air Force pilot, and mother moved the family to the States when he was seven. Growing up in Atlanta, Holiday fell in love with music and songwriting. On band tour, he first visited Asheville, immediately fell in love and moved here in 1995. Although his career is in hair, he continues to play and write music. Being a songwriter, singer, guitarist and performer, Holiday is used to working with his hands and imagination in music as well as hair.
Holiday was voted #1 hairdresser in Mountain Xpress's "2018 Best of WNC" reader poll, and was voted in the top three for local hair dressers in the Best Of 2016 and 2017 polls. But the accomplishment he is most proud of are his two sons, Sebastian and Gabriel, and his daughter, Wren, whom he and his wife Lilian welcomed to their family in 2017.
