Hi, I’m Lauren and it is a pleasure to meet you! I am the proud owner of The Studio located in the Sola Salon Studios at the Galleria of Pittsburgh. The Studio is a two-chair salon that I have the pleasure of sharing with my Sola sister, Sarah Morante. I am 37 years old, passionate about all things hair and I truly love my career! I have officially been in the industry as a hairstylist for 12 years and counting. In 2009, I graduated from the Carsten Aveda Institute in New York City in cosmetology. My family brought me back to Pittsburgh, where I had the pleasure of working and training at one of the top salons in Pittsburgh, Geno Levi Salon, for 9 years. Always having the desire to have my own studio, I followed my dreams and opened my first Sola studio, Lauren McLean Studio, in the summer of 2018. In January 2020, I had the great opportunity to move into a two chair Sola Salon Studio with Sarah Morante and we created, The Studio. One can see my dedication to my craft through my specialized cutting, custom blended coloring and Keratherapy smoothing treatments. I have been trained on the latest hair trends and techniques including balayage, foilyage, blonding, babylights, shadow roots, gray coverage, color blocking, multidimensional tones, glossing and more. Currently, I have been diving deep into dimensional coloring techniques and am getting a positive reputation for my work. By utilizing an artistry of color-lines in The Studio including Wella and Redken, I am able to offer my clients unlimited color combinations and services that will not only keep their hair healthy, but also give them the look they desire. My studio also offers Kevin Murphy Products for home maintenance. This luxury haircare line is not only cruelty free, but paraben and sulphate free as well. Every product has a beautiful aroma and its performance is top notch. My investment into continuing education is also something I take very seriously and enjoy! In 2019, I attended advanced education classes for two different Wella color lines, a blonding course by Wella, Redken Shades EQ gloss education, Cut.Me class by Kevin Murphy, advanced project knowledge class by Kevin Murphy and I also earned my certification for Keratherapy smoothing treatments. In 2020, I traveled to New York City to attend the Behind the Chair Show and earned my Barbicide Certification. In 2021, I went to a Redken balayage and product knowledge class. In addition to the classes I have completed in Pittsburgh, I attended two Sola Sessions for education in 2018 and 2019 in San Diego and Nashville. A visit to my studio begins with a detailed consultation to discuss my client’s goals, challenges and more! Then it is time for my clients to relax as my creativity takes over and their transformation begins! The Studio offers an intimate setting where clients can feel comfortable, relaxed, and pampered. Appointments can be scheduled through my Gloss Genius booking link or through me directly. I strongly encourage my clients to pre-book to ensure that they are able to stay in my scheduling rotation. On a personal note, I am a mother of 4 children, have been married for 14 years and counting to my high-school sweetheart, Jason, and I love to travel. I have a strong desire to give back and serve my community. When I am not behind the chair or spending time with my family, I volunteer as the Executive Director of the Still Remembered Project. This local Christian-based nonprofit works with parents and families who have experienced the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant death. Our first son passed away and that inspired me to devote my free time to that cause. It is something that is near and dear to my heart.
