The birth of Wild Venus Alchemy |wīld| adjective; living in a state of nature /ˈvi:nəs/ roman goddess of love and beauty; aphrodite. in astrology venus symbolizes love, beauty, harmony and values. /ˈalkəmē/ a seemingly magical process of transformation; the combining of elements to create something new. I’m Jade, hairstylist and budding herbalist. I have been in the Beauty industry for 20 {ish} years, since the age of 15. My Great Aunt helped me get my first job as an assistant at a local salon. After a year or so of assisting, I started my Apprenticeship. For the next few years- I was fully immersed in learning, while assisting some really great stylists. I continue to learn, staying on top of the most current techniques and trends. Specializing in color, I would say my favorite offered service is painting hair. I LOVE creating lived in color, and texture. I draw inspiration from the sun and sea, and how they naturally paint our hair. I have worked with many brands over the years. I have been certified in: Great Lengths, Socap, and Babe Hair Extensions. Most recently, I have partnered with: The Holistic Hair Tribe, Lit Rituals, Cult + King, Original Mineral, Oway Organics, and Love By Luna. I have also been certified in: O&M cør color, Oway Hcolor, Olaplex, and Barbicide. As far back as I can remember my Aunt was always learning and creating. Her knowledge and training as an Esthetician~ paired well with her plant based self care creations. She often involved me; we made everything from tooth polish, to hair and face masks. I have carried this knowledge and curiosity into my adult life. I have always had a fascination with nature, and homemade potions. It is this fascination and curiosity~ that has guided me on my path toward the studies of: Herbalism, Astrology, Holistic Beauty, and Self Care. It is my Grandmother I have to thank for my understanding of many things. She taught me what it means to be a feminist, an activist, and a witch. She was fierce and wise. She was unafraid to follow her soul’s path, even when it was unpopular. She taught me to see beauty and value in all things. A fierce feminist, I honor her fight and activism with the womyn symbol in my logo. In July of 2016 I transitioned to a vegan lifestyle. Quickly, I came to learn how the vast majority of products available aren’t animal, Earth, or even people friendly. As a mom of two daughters. I am doing my best to teach my girls to honor their bodies, and our beautiful planet. To choose wisely: the foods they eat, the products they use, as well as the companies they support. Being in the beauty industry for so long- I have grown to understand the environmental impacts our industry has on our beautiful Mother Earth. In a world where profit and production seem to have outweighed the protection and preservation of animals, people and our planet- I am hopeful, people as a whole are shifting toward change. Change that will honor and reward peacefulness, empathy, love and patience. It is my hope and mission to partner with brands that align with these core values.
