Shakia M. Moore began using her gift of creativity by styling her hair, peer's hair, and family's hair at an early age. By the time Shakia reached middle school, she knew that her passion was to pursue a professional career as a licensed cosmetologist. During her high school years, as a junior, she was enrolled in the Step Ahead Program at Craven Community College which allowed her to be a part time cosmetology student. In addition to her high school studies, Shakia's decision to study cosmetology helped her to achieve a high school diploma, a diploma in cosmetology, and a cosmetology license in 2001. When someone asks her, "how long have you been doing hair", she replies, "well I've been doing hair since youth, but professionally for 18 years. She's known for being very punctual, educating clients on maintaining the health and integrity of their hair, and her calming personality. She's very proficient in treating, repairing, maintaining, styling, and coloring locs, relaxer-free hair, silk press, relaxed hair, pixie cuts, and creating custom hair color. For the past 18 years Shakia's been persistent in gladly greeting, and servicing each customer with a warm smile.
